Can I use the gesture controls on the Apple Watch to manage Keynote?

I'm a business lecturer, and every weekend, I teach at a business school for the entire day. During my lectures, I need to hold a microphone in one hand and a clicker in the other to switch between nearly 300 slides. The challenge comes when I need to use a whiteboard marker to write something. If I put down the microphone, the audience can’t hear me; if I set aside the clicker, I lose control over the Keynote slides. This situation often leaves me fumbling and looking unprofessional.

Why can't we use the Double Tap gesture on the Apple Watch to control PowerPoint? Has anyone tried third-party software to achieve this, or is there a better way to solve this awkward problem?

For working with Keynote, take a look here:

Use a remote to control a presentation in Keynote on Mac - Apple Support

PowerPoint is not an Apple product, so support for using an Apple Watch for control of PowerPoint would be up to Microsoft or a third party to build.

I teach occasionally at a local university and local photography center. The majority of my presentations are keynote or at least centered around a one hour keynote presentation of 40 to 80 slides. I pair my Apple Watch to my iPhone using keynote and take an HDMI out of the iPhone to the digital Epson projector. I tap my watch face to go forwards and backwards in the presentation. Works flawlessly in large auditoriums.

I can hold a microphone in the hand with the Watch and i use my other hand to tap my watch to advance slides.

Thank you! I might not have explained it clearly—I'm indeed referring to Keynote, not PowerPoint. I'd like to use the gesture control feature on the Apple Watch (such as Double Tap) to control Keynote.

Sorry, I'm not sure if there's a way to use Gesture Control with the Keynote controller on an Apple Watch. The article I linked to doesn't mention it, but it's possible that Gesture Control can be set to just issue the single "tap". I don't have a Watch that supports Gesture Control to try that. Or perhaps it could be set up through AssitiveTouch/Hand Gestures.
