How do I turn off Universal Control on my Mac? (Original M1)

Online I found instructions to turn it off in System Preferences, but my version of MacOS has no System Preferences (Sonoma 14.6.1), just settings and there is no "off" setting. The Activity Monitor shows it running anywhere from 8th to 15th busiest process.

Mac mini, macOS 14.6

well without posting the reference link(?)... then it sound like an outdated "instruction"— so I can comment no further.

What I can say —

>System Settings is the new interface / >System Preferences is the old interface (i.e. older macOS.)

if in doubt use the Search feature(?)

this is what I see in macOS 14.6.1
