How can I upgrade my IMAC 21.5" 2010 higher than MacOS High Sierra v10.13.6

I have an IMAC 21.5" mid 2010 with MaOS High Sierra, v10.13.6.I tried upgrading it to macOS Sonoma from the App Store . When I clicked Download, it gave me a message that macOS 14.61 cannot be installed on this computer. Anyone has a suggestion on how to upgrade my mac higher than High Sierra v10.13.6?

Basically, you can't upgrade this Mac model beyond macOS High Sierra. If you need to run apps, that require a newer version of macOS, you will need to consider getting a newer Mac.

Thank you. I was hoping there’s a patch that can be installed. Oh well.

Potentially, there is, but you will need to search the Internet for it. Should you go this route, you will need to know that you will be violating Apple's macOS usage agreement. This is neither recommended or supported by Apple, nor can we do anything to assist you with here related to it.
