I have an Apple I watch 1st gen that I paid a lot of money for and enjoyed a lot. I think the battery needs to be replaced but so far I found someone to fix it (for a lot of money) but I can't get a battery) so I should just thrown away a beautiful piece because I can't find a battery? This is nuts. Anyone know where I could find this battery?

Whatever you do don’t “just throw it away.” It should be properly recycled instead. Apple will send you a prepaid container to return it for recycling.
Replacing the battery in an Apple Watch is tricky which is why repair shops will charge quite a bit to do it. There are resources, if you search the web (we cannot provide links to any specific locations), where you can buy batteries and attempt replacement yourself but I would not recommend it. Better to just put the money toward a new, or newer, Watch.

I was hoping to find another watch that the band will fit on. So far I have found that the battery for my watch doesn't exist. I would never just throw it in the garbage, thanks for the suggestion on how to dispose properly.
Thanks for the info, so far I cannot find a battery. I did find someone who will put it in for 150.00 but until I find a battery it a no go.
