When attempting to eject my external hard drive "My Book" I am receiving the following error:
The disk “My Book” wasn’t ejected because one or more programs may be using it.
Don't know how to determine which programs / processes may be using it and would like some guidance. See the included EtreCheck report for additional reference.

First try this...
Open Activity Monitor in Utilities, View>All Processes, sort on Name, see if fsck is running, if so force quit it.
Have you emptied the Trash lately?
You need to free up at least another 30GB of free space.
You can use Drive DX to possibly get a better view of Drive health…
