Apple Mail on macOS/iOS supporting OAuth2 and IMAP

Why can we not find an answer to this very basic question!

Microsoft exchange on our school email service is requiring us to have OAuth2 and they are supporting only web access. I want to continue to use Apple mail to read my school email. Will I be able to? Does Apple Mail support OAuth2 authentication for MS Exchange mail servers?

The more recent versions of macOS and iOS support OAuth2.

I can't provide an exact list of which versions do but macOS Sonoma and iOS 17 do, for sure. I'm fairly certain that at least the last 3 versions of these operating systems do (macOS Monterey, and up, and iOS 15, and up) but I can't confirm it.

Well that is a relief. I have Sonoma 14.6.1 , so I hope you are correct.

But I do wish I could find documentation on this fact. I just today downloaded Postbox and under account settings it specifically uses an option of OAuth2.0 for Microsoft and Google. But I don't see this option with Apple Mail. Why I wonder?
