Can’t get emails on regular Comcast.net account.

Moved a couple of years ago from another state and set up new Xfinity service here. Email worked great until last month. Now all I get is Cannot Get Mail. Xxxx@comcast.net currently unavailable .

It is possible that you need to turn on Third Party Access on the Comcast site. They may have turned this off or even changed your password without notifying you. Follow these steps:

  • Sign into the Comcast web mail page.
  • Choose the gear icon in the upper right corner of the web mail page.
  • Choose Email Settings
  • Choose the Security category
  • Make sure that "Third Party Access" has been checked.
