Purchased the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) in January 2024. Are these the same as the AirPods Pro 2 announced at the Apple Event? Both have the Usbc charging case. I cannot find any information on this

Thank you for the quick reply. Apple sales did reach to me and you are correct as same hardware and model, however they did say that the AirPods Pro 2 just announced at the Apple event does have a slightly better battery duration usage. But yes everything else is the same.

Hello, this is the answer i've got from the Apple customer service chat today.
"Yes AirPods Pro 2 the same as the AirPods Pro. However there are 2 different models in AirPods one is USB and lighting cable we won't be able to confirm about battery. The AirPods Pro 2 have features however there is difference in case. Previously the case was with lighting charger and now it is USB C type."
Which then I said both 2023 and 2024 have USB c cable.
And their reply was "Yes, there is no different and also now the previous version is not available for sales from Apple online store. the older models might be available in 3rd party stores or Apple authorised resellers."
Yes. Same hardware, same model. The new features will come to the Second Generation Air Pods Pro with a software update.
The latest firmware update is 7B19 for the AirPods Pro 2 and the AirPods Pro (2nd generation). Apple changed the name on their website however both are the same.
Check your model numbers. The earphone for the Pro 2 2023 has the model number on the underside of the ear piece. The model numbers include: A3047, A3048 and A3049. The charging case has the model number on the inside of the top of the case. A2968. The charger uses USB-C.
The 2022 Pro 2 earphone models are: A2931, A2699 and A2698. The charger is a lightning connector. A2700. You’ll have to check to see if the 2022 has hearing aid and better sound suppression.

The new AirPods Pro 2 and Usbc case are the same as the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation with Usbc case). Apple sales did say the battery life was a little bit better on the AirPods Pro 2 but I cannot find that to be true. They are both the same as hardware and size. Just software upgrade.

With the new AirPOD pro 2 will come the ability (eventually) to take a hearing test and adjust each ear buds volume range for frequencies the user is challenged with. Will there also be the ability to amplify both earbuds when attending seminars or other types of quiet events?

ALL AirPod Pro 2nd gen devices will be usable as hearing aids once the appropriate firmware and iOS updates are released.
