How to get rid of scam alerts on my MacBook Pro?

Accidentally opened a website page briefly and since then keep receiving 'hacking' alerts about my iCloud account on my Home Screen. I haven't opened anything I shouldn't and am sure it's a scam but I want to know how to get rid of the alerts.

If these are sliding in the from the top right of the screen, then the site you visited has given itself permission to send push notifications. Everything you're seeing is nothing but a scam.

Open Safari's preferences. Click on the Websites tab and then scroll down to Notifications. Clear any entries in the right hand window. You might find something similar in the Pop-up Windows heading below that. Block any you don't recognize.

Then if you want, uncheck the box on the right, as shown below here.

I personally can't think of any reason why I would ever want any website to push notices to me.

Thank you for your help Kurt - much appreciated. A small point, though: I did not want or allow anything - I merely searched a subject and visited a website I understood to be pertinent - there was nothing to suggest that it would be a scam website but after a split second I closed it again when I saw what it was and I did not engage with anything on the website, open anything on the website or give it permissions in any way other than to visit the website for a split second. Thank you.
