Resetting password for deleted/ corrupted Apple ID

About eight or so years ago, my Apple ID was hacked and corrupted and unfortunately, I had to delete it and reset my phone with a new Apple ID. Since then, my phone has not been associated with the old Apple ID, on settings in my profile, the current one is the only one under my name. I am now trying to set up a new Apple Watch, but whether I set it up as a new watch or restore from back up, it requires me to enter the old password for the deleted Apple ID. It says to go to iforgot on Apple and reset the password, however, when I do this, nothing comes up as the Apple ID no longer exists. I have been to the Apple Store, and tried calling the number, but they said they were having technical difficulties. I have been trying for over 24 hours and hoping someone here has had a similar issue and can provide some guidance. 🙏

For anyone having this issue if you are trying to link an Apple Watch and it is saying to enable iMessage enter the password, I was able to go into setting and change my iMessage and FaceTime preferences to use my Apple ID instead of my phone number and it no longer requested the password. Hope this helps someone I spent 4 hours with apple support in store and on the phone and fixed it myself after they both couldn’t think of anything
