While not precluding unresolved issues with Apps themselves, latency (i.e, slow or delayed response) is often attributable to lack of system resources for the task being performed - either due to lack or working memory (RAM) or too many other processes running in the background.

While iPadOS is designed to be very efficient at managing its available system resources, experience demonstrates that iPadOS 17.x can sometimes benefit from some extra help when latency becomes particularly noticeable.

By design, it should not be necessary to manually close any open Apps. iPadOS should transparently and seamlessly manage its available resources as you switch between Apps and tasks. This mechanism appears to be impaired in all production versions of iPadOS 17 released to date.

While your iPad should be able to switch between Apps and manage its resources without issue, paging Apps and data between available RAM and local storage when memory is required for other tasks, this mechanism appears to be unreliable in iPadOS 17.

Until resolved, as a workaround, you may find that manually force-closing Apps that you are not actively using will provide some relief.  You can force-close Apps from the App Switcher page...

To expose the App Switcher page, swipe-upwards from the bottom edge to the centre of the screen, pausing briefly before lifting your finger from the screen; you will see a thumbnail image for each of your currently open Apps.  Unused Apps can be force-closed by swiping the corresponding thumbnail off the top of the screen.

Otherwise, perform a forced-restart of your iPad:

If your iPad is not operating as expected, try a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

brotherrrrrrrrrrrr ive done forced restart as i mentioned above!

even ive format my ipad and repaired it from itunes and this issue stillll persists

not enough ram?

cant even play hill climb racing with this touch

now plugging wired earphones or connecting blue tooth makes touch even worse

even when i plugged otg and usb display just stopped responding even though the pendrive was completely empty and just for confirming i formatted my pendrive from diskpart and you know what happened NOTHING!

One more thing

apple service centre even refused to check my ipad and said directly just get ur ipad exchanged bring 25000rs and get moving such a nice service dont you think

I really regret buying ipad 9th gen

even all my friends with ipad 8th and 9th gen are facing this same issue

cant even sell this trash to someone bcoz they know how trash ipad 9th gen is

I guess this is the reason why ipad 9th gen price hs dropped so much from 32000rs to 20000rs from amazon, flipkart, reliance digital etc
