I would like to see clear steps, please, to ensure I'm doing this all correctly when I migrate, considering I currently have MDM on the 14 Pro and will be RETAINING it and will register my 16 Pro Max on the corp network.
The first thing you should do is contact your IT department.
In theory, the MDM settings will transfer over. At least, that is what the IT guys told me when I wanted to upgrade to a newer phone years ago.
But, theory does not always prove true in the real world. Maybe things have changed.
I had to take the new phone to the company IT guys to get them to install new MDM settings on the new phone. Then.....I could transfer the data from a backup of the old phone over to the new phone.
So, as Idris has recommended, you would be wise to first check with the IT Dept to ask about this.
Someone may tell you that things "should" work. But, as many users have learned, the word "should" is not the same as the word "will".
This may one of those times when you won't know if something will work until you try.
