duplicate notifications on 17.6.1

What is going on?

The problem appeared out of nowhere.

You can't fix it.

Researching shows me it's an issue since forever already!

Getting double, triple even quadruple notifications makes me want to throw the phone against the wall.

Apple can you fix this already???

Apple can’t fix anything, unless you ask them to. Posting in this user-to-user forum is not a way to contact Apple. There are 2 cases where you will hear a notification more than once:

If you choose a notification sound that repeats - many do, so go to Settings/Sound & Haptics and tap on your chosen sound.
If you get two or more notifications, either from the same or different apps.

There exists a bug since some version of iOS 17 where notifications will be duplicated 2, 3, even as much as 4 times. These are separate notifications back to back, and it's been infuriating that Apple has not acknowledged or addressed this bug.

I have tried everything from unpairing all watches and devices to flat out deleting apps, nothing works.
