Am I Safe from Sim Swapping?

We had suffered from some kind of data breach, and I was advised to protect our phones from sim swapping. I have no idea how to do this. We have an iPhone 14 and an iPhone XR. Help! How can I tell if a Sim Lock is on? If it is not, how can I put it on?

iPhone 14, iOS 17

There is no way to protect yourself from SIM swapping on your phone. You need to add 2 factor authentication on your cellular network account; SIM swapping is done by the perp calling your carrier, convincing them they are you, and changing your SIM.
