Airtag Serial Numbers on Tags and Package

I bought 2 Airtags. One of them won't connect, no matter what. I need to return it. I'm trying to match the serial number on the tag with the serial number on the empty package. Neither of the boxes have SNs even close to the SN on the tag. Do I just pick a box and send it back?

I I have an AirTag that I bought the battery died in it. I finally got it replaced and it will not let me do anything with it. It says it is registered to another Apple ID. It’s not and when I do the search for it only gives me a serial number it doesn’t show what Apple ID is connected to. It doesn’t show a phone number. Is this fixable or do I just need to throw my apple airtag in the trash?

one of mine tags will not connect. scan gives serial number, no further information. new battery gives sound, but no recognation. help please airtag not connectable. Gives sound with new battery. Scanning shows the tag and the serial nummer. What is wrong?
