Hi, I wanted to reset my mac mini and install the newer version of MacOS.
After resetting, I got an error in activating the Mac "Failed to activate device" . (internet connection works smoothly)
Then I created a startup disk with "MacOS Sonoma 14.2", but an error message appeared at startup saying the startup disk could not be set.

Try one of these...
Start up from macOS Recovery
Command (⌘)-R
Install the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac.
Option-⌘-R
Upgrade to the latest macOS compatible with your Mac.
Shift-Option-⌘-R
Install the macOS that came with your Mac, or the closest version still available.
I just remembered on M series Macs you cannot bot from another drive unless you jumped throughhoops ahead of time to allow it.
Are you able to choose a Startup Disk if you hold Option key at startup?
Generally speaking, we should wait for Apple to open the activation servers.
I tried all the options you wrote but the installation menu did not appear. I get an error in the Activate Mac section. My internet connection works smoothly, after browsing for a while this message appears "Failed to activate device" .
No disk options appear. Only the option icon appears. When I select it and continue, an error appears saying that the startup disk cannot be set.
Might be Apple;s havng a problem...
