Problems with refunding

I accidentally bought a book for me when I meant to send it to a friend, so seeing this I bought the book to send to her anyway. I asked for a refund for my first order because I don’t need the book, and I was surprised to see that as an actual option so I assumed they’d understand. Come to find out my friend couldn’t access the book anyway after i gifted it to her. So I immediately asked a refund for that one too. Apple got back to me and said i got a refund for both, even now they say both have been finished and when i go to the place it doesn’t allow me to put another refund try in the system. Now I wonder why do I still have the book and not my money if Apple said it was refunded for me? What can I do to get my money back because I have no need for this book nor any want to read through it, i can’t even sell it to someone else to get atleast half of my money back.

Check the status of a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support

Choose Check Status of Claims. If you don't see Check Status of Claims, you don't have any pending refund requests.

If your refund is approved, the funds are applied to the same payment method that you used to buy the item. Here's how long it takes for a refund to appear on your account or statement:

• Store credit – It might take up to 48 hours to see the refund in your Apple ID balance.

• Mobile phone billing – It might take up to 60 days for the statement to show the refund. Processing time might be affected by your carrier. You can contact your carrier for an update.

• Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Apple Cash, and all other payment methods – It might take up to 30 days for the statement to show the refund. Contact your financial institution if you don't see the refund after 30 days.
