MacBook 14Inch M2 Pro (2023) display replacement

My lcd screen has two small cracks at the bottom so now I have a black bar going down the middle of my screen. I booked an appointment at the Genius Bar and they said this may be due to pressure on the MacBook and whatnot however my outside screen is untouched without a scratch. They said it’s £739 to fix it as I have two cracks. I was wondering whether it would be cheaper to buy a used screen off of eBay and replacing my own screen with it and then run the configuration for it myself or if I need to go to Apple again or if there’s a way to have it repaired for free.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.5
