You will not get skin cancer; over many studies there has been no evidence that cellphone use will lead to cancer or even increase the possibility. But you may suffer damage due to the constant pressure on your leg, or you may be sensitive to the materials used in some phone bodies such as nickel. Talk to your personal physician who may refer you to a dermatologist for further evaluation.

I would check with your doctor i used to experince this but it suddenly went away.

James, just in case you missed it, the OP said that this was also happening for over a year with a phone from another manufacturer, so this is very unlikely to be something Apple Support can help with.
