I've bought a second-hand iPhone 14 Pro, but I didn't explain that date of purchase is April 1978. But my serial number starts with “M” and ends with “ZD/A”. Sure, I've read other discussions, but relying on serial number, it wasn’t refubrished.
The iPhone is not going to be covered by any kind of warranty......if that is what you are asking here.
For what its worth, your serial number does not start with "M", although it is possible that the Model Number begins with an "M".
All this tells you is that the iPhone was new when it was originally sold in Europe whenever that might be.
The purchase date of April 1978 would not appear unless someone has been into the phone and changed some things around.
At least you know that the phone is not much more than a couple of years old.
Are you able to get a Battery Health reading on the phone?
Serial numbers don't begin with M. Did you mean the model number does? Who really knows what you got since it's a used iPhone. It wouldn't have any warranty, so whatever it's date is, is honestly irrelevant at this point.
Whoever installed the new battery did not complete the procedure "by the book". That would explain the strange purchase date.
Yes, sorry, it's a Model Number. Battery capacity is 100%, but to be honest, i think that battery was changed. However, there is no signs of covering the back cover and the screws are not scratched.
So even if the battery was changed, is it a good phone, or I should return one?
Sorry, but my opinion is not relevant here, because I would not consider buying a used phone.
