Deleted contacts

I am trying to delete a contact on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I have done it hundreds of times and there is no doubt that I do not know how to do it. In spite of that, how am I supposed to delete the contact with a button that does not exist? Thanks for any information.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17

I think that may not be what you meant. However, taking you at your word, go to the contact you want to delete. Tap on Edit in the upper right corner. Swipe to the bottom and tap "Delete".

If the delete button is not there, go to Settings Screen Time and make sure you don't have any restrictions that would prevent you from deleting contacts.

Also, are these contacts possibly synced to a work account? If so, it's possible that you're not allowed to delete them.
