Adding Internet Accounts on MacBook Pro

Hello - I'm trying to add an Internet Account (Google email, contacts and calendar) to my MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.6.9 (up to date for my laptop). When I select the add account from Settings/Internet Accounts, it pops up the option list. I select Google Account, and it opens the browser window. I'm able to log in successfully, and then it gives me the warnings about trusting the operating system etc. I accept that, and it kicks me back to the MacOS user interface that allows me to select which apps I want to use the Internet Account with. I select any combo of the items, and then click ok. The OK button goes grey, and nothing else happens. The Cancel button on that user interface remains clickable. I can change the selection to something else and the OK button becomes clickable again, but it doesn't ever allow me to successfully add the account to the laptop. What am I missing? I've done this dozens of times seamlessly.....
