Call recording on iOS 18 is generally not possible with the built-in features.
You might need to use third-party apps, but their availability and legality vary by region.
That is not correct. Call recording is built into iOS 18, but it does depend on your region, since some would consider that to be illegal.
For those looking for the rules regarding beta software, refer to the confidential agreement that pertains to the beta:
Yes, the beta software is Apple confidential information. Don’t install the beta software on any systems you don’t directly control or that you share with others. Don’t blog, post screenshots, tweet, or publicly post information about the beta software, and don’t discuss the beta software with or demonstrate it to others who are not in the Apple Beta Software Program. If Apple has publicly disclosed technical information about the beta software, it is no longer considered confidential.
Apple has not publicly disclosed technical information about the features. All they have released is an overview of the features, which is why some users are met with the standard response that it has not been released yet when wanting to ask how something is going to work or want to discuss the features.

I think this is definitely "technical" enough to make this information no longer confidential, and we should be able to freely discuss it here.
That is not technical at all. Once technical information has been provided, you will see the companion Support Article for the feature, such as this one here:
Record the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Notice on the bottom of that page there is a link to Contact Apple Support if you are having any trouble. That is also not possible with beta software and why the technical information has not been provided. Beta software changes all the time and the screenshots that were previewed months ago may not even be in the final release, which is why they did not release any technical details then.
Anyways it makes no difference if you agree with me or not. You have found out that it is not your decision and for that matter it is not mine either.
You are completely right, but also wrong. Europe for example being a big coverage area it is NOT illegal to record calls so long as both parties are involved. Please do not spread false information. If you’d like me to get the legal jargon on that then fine. The feature is now available as of 28/10/24.

will call Recording feature be available on my iPhone 14 when I update to iOS 18.1 in October?

Yep! It sure will!*
*Depending on your region and language. See here for more details: iOS and iPadOS - Feature Availability - Apple
the warning isn’t included in the recording, so if you do use it for legal issues in a state that requires both parties notice then how will you prove you notified the person if the recording doesn’t have the warning at the start of they call, can’t the other person just lie and say to a judge that he never heard a warning and that it was recorded without his or her knowledge, so what apple is doing is useless. Also warning someone that the phone is recording them is deafening the purpose of recording someone cause if you wanted to catch someone talking about a crime they did or catch them threatening you or whatever thats illegal, as soon as they hear that warning they hanging up on you, it basically makes call recording useless because no one will stay on a line as long as they know they being recorded.

In Sweden, which is part of Europe 😃, it is legal if one of the parties consent.
The call recording feature on the iPhone will alert the other party. For specific rules about single party consent on recorded calls, your local government will be the best resource.
I am in South Africa and I installed the iOS 18.1 Update yesterday. I don't have access to this feature, as there is no "Soundbar" symbol in the top left corner when on a call.
Is this due to my region, or possibly another issue?
Is there a way to download the recorded call ? I can't find it in the phone, and can't share the notes with the audio file. Where is the audio file ? I work in french, so I would need the audio file to put it in a transcription software.
Thanks!
Whenever my mom (age 89 - barely understands how to make a phone call on an iPhone much less do anything else) calls me I now get the "call is being recorded" announcement. Every time. She has no idea why or how to turn it off and I have had no luck walking her through turning it off.
This feature is awful and appears to be on by default on her phone. How to disable it permanently?

It's a great feature that many people love, but you can easily turn it off. Just go to Settings -> Apps -> Phone -> Call Recording and turn it OFF.

Tap on the call audio in the note (as if you were going to play it), then tap on the yellow circle with three dots in it in the top right corner. From there you can tap Share Audio or Save Audio to Files.

Yes it is available for iphone 15 but for that you to have be on ios 18.1 which is not released yet for some older devices ,
iOS 18.1 hasn't been released for any phone yet.
There are MANY places where recording phone calls is perfectly legal.

That is incorrect. Most, not all, states are a one party state meaning as long as one side knows and consents it’s perfectly legal.
