My Apple Account profile picture is greyed out and facing iCloud sync issues

So i recently got a Macbook Air, and have been attempting to use it though the day at college. Recently, I've noticed that my Icloud for certain things, such as freeform, un-syncs from my other devices, and any work that i had made gets deleted. Looking at my apple id after noticing the issues i find my profile picture has been greyed out, and only a very limited amount of settings and information is available. I have to sign back out and sign back in, and i find that many of my files have been deleted. What can I do? There's no warning when this happens, and I can't find a way to know when it will.
