M1 MacBook Pro unable to connect to internet after sequoia 15 update

2020 MacBook Pro M1 won’t connect to the internet after updating to Sequoia 15. Connects to wifi but not internet. Same wifi connection works for everything else.

Tried reset etc etc and everything else I could see relating to this. No difference. Sort it out Apple!

Apple is not here! We are just fellow Apple-product users trying to assist other users with their Apple devices. If you want Apple to "fix it," you will need to contact Apple Support directly.

In the meantime, we can try to help. If you would like that, then the first thing I'm going to ask you do to is the following:

  1. Hold down the <Option> key, and then, select the Wi-Fi icon on the macOS menubar.
  2. Note the settings for: IP Address, Router, Internet, Security, Channel, Country Code, RSSI, Noise, Tx Rate, PHY Mode, MCS Index, & NSS. Please provide your findings.

Thanks for providing those values. Giving them a quick review, nothing stands out to be an issue with the wireless connection to your local wireless router or access point. This you already know.

Let's move on to why your Mac can't gain Internet access. In order to do so, I need to know a bit more about your current network hardware. What is the make & model of your wireless router? Is this the only piece of networking hardware?

A few additional questions, if you don't mind:

  • Is your Mac currently using any type of software firewall, 3rd-party Anti-Virus apps, or "cleaner" apps?
  • When you enter a URL, like www.apple.com in a web browser, what is the result?
  • Alternately, if you enter the site's actual IP address (for the Apple site, it would be: 184.31.197.27) in the same browser, what is the result?
  • If you create a new user account on your Mac, and then, log into that account, is your Mac able to access the Internet now?
  • Finally, if you temporarily connect your Mac to this router by Ethernet, can it get to the Internet?
