I Can’t install MacOS Sequoia on MacBook Air M1 2020

Hello. What should I do if I don't have MacOS Sequoia installed on my MacBook Air M1 2020? I've already tried all the methods: tried to install through safe mode, through recovery mode - nothing works, even reinstall the current version of MacOS. And it says all the time: "it was not possible to personalise the software update. Try again." I'm fine with Wi-Fi, I checked. Please help!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.6

Hello

I tried to create usb to make a clean installation (I use ever the same metod from ... Lion? createinstallmedia), all ok, usb is ok but when I make a clean installation nothing happen when you choose "continue" (as other users says!), I try another usb, I try to download again I try another computer to create usb and other to install and ever ever the same! It's true is a problem on Sequoia image, also other forums says the same thing! BUT I find the solution (I don't know if Apple agree with this solution, I simply make a copy-paste, so I don't think I violate any terms and conditions). So:

  1. Download Sequoia
  2. Download Sonoma
  3. Create usb from Sonoma
  4. Open Sequoia installer (view into package) then open Contents directory, copy "SharedSupport" (I don't remember if you need to activate hidden files view)
  5. Paste "SharedSupport" in the same position in the usb Sonoma (delete the directory in the usb first)
  6. Make a clen installation (delete the disk and install)
  7. During all the installation it says Sonoma, Sonoma, Sonoma ... BUT at the end you have Sequoia!
  8. Tried on 20-30 MacBooks and iMacs (intel and Mx), ever works!

Try and let me know!

If an error occurred while updating or installing macOS

1 - Install after repairing your disk

Use Disk Utility to repair your startup disk. Then try updating or installing macOS again.

2 - Has SIP ( System Integrity Protection ) been disabled

3 - Software on the computer interfering with the download process including AntiVirus Software

Notation: Disabling the AV Software may or may not solve the issue. Removal of the AV Software may increase the chances of the download to perform as expected.

4 - Running behind a VPN which may increase Packet losses or corruption of the download

5 - How much Empty Space is available. There should be at least 50 GB or More

Hum, have a M1, M2 and M3 machines all previously running Sonoma 14.6.1

Downloaded the Full Installer of Sequoia 14.54 GB

Make a copy to USB

Launched the Installer on the Original Machine ( M1 ) Yesterday Monday

20 Minutes later - Presto macOS 15 Up and Running

Moved the USB Installer to M2 and M3 machines today Tuesday

Presto, both machines up and running macOS

The Only problem I have is which of the 3 machines to pay with today
