Applications Folder Icon

The desk top icons on my Sonoma M3 platform are all recognisable except for the actual Apps folder itself, which is shown simply as a blank sheet of paper with a top right corner curled over.

When I open up the Apps folder I can see all my various apps including again an Apps folder, only this time it is shown in Blue and looks like a folder with the A for apps on the front.

I want to change the desktop icon to something more recognisable, perhaps like the one inside the Apps folder, so how do I do it guys? Help appreciated.

Hi 6x6, thanks for the reply - I'm not sure what you mean. Using my magic track pad and the Control key, when I click on the desktop Apps folder I am given two Options: "Open" or "Open"Applications""

If I then click on "Options" I am offered : "remove from Docl", "Open at login" or "show in finder"

so still no further forward. is there something I am missing in your answer?

Thanks

Thanks for your help anyway 6x6, the help is appreciated. I have to say I am disappointed in this new Sonoma software. Its not what I expected after changing from my 11 year old Imac. I'm also having frustrations with all my photos as well since changing to Sonoma and a 2023 Imac. I, this morning upgraded to sequoia and guess what, the photos app has changed again. Why oh why can they not just leave things alone. Hey Ho, I'll carry on searching for answers to my apps issue and will take up your suggestion to contact them.

Again thanks for your perseverance.

Hello Barney-15E - thanks for getting involved. I don't know what you mean by an Alias or the curly arrow badge. however, I have managed to pull an applications folder onto the desktop sidebar, except that it has taken on the ident icon of one of the Apps in the application folder. See the attached photos. The icon is an app I am using for Video anyway, but this icon next to the delete bin contains all my apps when I click on it, so I guess I need to somehow change this icon appearance> I feel like i'm going further and further down a rabbit hole.

Incidently, I updated my Imac to the new Sequoia 15.0 yesterday. Any help you can give me to modify this desktop sidebar icon will as always be worth its weight in gold.
