After installing watchOS 11 on my Series 8 watch the battery life has been very poor. Hasn't been 12 hours yet since I did it and I can already tell that there's an issue. Overnight the watch will use about 10% of battery. Last night it used over 30% and used another 5% while I was up for about 45 minutes.

Yeah, I noticed the same with my watch I came across while researching the issue 15 Apple Watch Battery Saving Tips on another thread, and it mentioned low power mode too. I tried the low power mode and the battery drain has improved for me as well. Worth sticking with it until the next update comes through. It’s been super frustrating, though!
I’ve actually done that twice as well as reset the watch. No help at all :(
Turning off "Allow live activities" completely fixed it.
Same issue here down to 10% battery without having used the watch much today and usually is at 70-80% at this time

Have you unpaired the Watch and then paired them again? What iOS version are you using for your iPhone and Watch?
My issue seems to have been fixed after I disabled live activities and restarted the watch. Also Watch Ultra.
My apple watch 9 battery is draining very fast both after installing OS 11.1 (was draining super fast on the last OS as well). Watch is less than 1 year old. Do not have back ground app refresh on.
thx for the tip . Can you tell me where to find the Smart Stack button - can't find it on the iPhone watch tab or the watch itself.
What's the oath to turn off live activities please?
On the watch, open Settings -> Smart Stack -> Live Activities

Turn off the watch. Place it in the charger overnight. It solved my massive battery drain issue. I left my Smart Stack live activities enabled.
