My 16Pro is coming 9/20, should I update 13Pro to iOS 18?

I have a 13 Pro and Watch Ultra. My new iPhone 16 Pro is coming Friday. I know the 16 Pro won't ship with iOS 18 so I'm wondering if I should update my 13 Pro and watch beforehand.

I haven't had a problem before when setting up a new phone using a more updated older phone but those were incremental updates not a full iOS 17 to 18.

What would you experts do in a similar situation?

You don't have to update your iPhone 13 if you have any concerns. I can tell you I did update my current iPhone to iOS 18 and my new phone is coming Friday as well.
