Resolution is unrelated to dynamic range. They’re different video properties. SDR video can be 4K, HDR video can be HD, or even SD.
Can you elaborate, so that others can replicate your situation as closely as possible?
What is your model TV? What are your Apple TV video setting for Format, Output (color space), Chroma, Match Content? Is your TV (still) set for high bandwidth use on the corresponding HDMI port? Is there other equipment involved (e.g. AV receiver)?
What content (title) are you trying to play? From what app?
until ios18 it worked correctly
I can’t replicate your issue. Match Content seems to work fine on my setup with tvOS 18.
I tried both HDR format default and SDR format default, both with Match Dynamic Range, and the screen switches SRD|HDR to match the content in either setup.
