iMac cannot connect to internet after Sequoia Update

I have a Mac and installed Sequoia 15 yesterday. My Sequoia OS will not connect to internet. Two browsers and other apps say no internet connection, even though System Settings say I am connected. There is nothing wrong with my WiFi, since I can print from Sequoia using WiFi, and my Windows virtual machine under Parallels can do everything (print, browse, etc.). I rebooted numerous times, tried turning WiFi on and off, deleted the WiFi network and re-added, tried iphone hotspot and ethernet, deleted the network services and readded them, trashed Eset and disabled Apple Firewall. I also tried reinstalling Sequoia. Please help!

I am now connected! I had thrown ESET in the trash and disabled ESET filters. Someone posted that they had to delete the ESET filters from System-Network-Filters, but I didn't know how. I had Apple Support call. ESET was in trash, so she had me empty trash. From System-Network-Filters, she instructed me to highlight an ESET filter and use the minus key "-" to delete the filter and then do same for the second ESET filter. Yay! Thank you everyone!

I think depending on our exact devices/circumstances, solutions can be a bit different for each of us. I was experiencing the same issue, where my WiFi showed “Connected” but I could not open any webpages, receive iMessages, etc. What fixed things for me was going to “Settings”>”Network”>”VPN & Filters” and setting the status of all filters/proxies from “Enabled” to “Disabled”. (I had an old VPN software installed that was listed as “Enabled” even though I haven’t used it in years.) Finally, I restarted my Mac and everything began working again.

I had a similar problem.

i attempted all of the above with no success.

my case was that the OS was displaying that the WiFi was connected successfully but all browsers were saying I had no internet connection.

What worked for me was turning off the “Private Wi-Fi address”.

In System Settings go to Network.

On the Wifi block got to details.

In the you will see the block for Private Wi-Fi address. Turn it off.

This is not an end all solution if you prefer this security. But will give you an insight into the problem.

In my case it’s the Access Control on my router only allowing specific Mac Addresses to connect to the network and this setting was changing the address.

I hope that helps someone.

I have a Desktop Mac, so maybe the filters are not in the same place. Under Network, I had 3 choices: Wi-Fi, Firewall and Filters. After deleting my ESET filters, I no longer have that category. A VPN can also cause problems. Try this discussion, which is re MacBook Pro and where I found the help I needed: My MacBook Pro 16" says no internet after… - Apple Community
