ECRP and PMA apps on MAC OS Sequoia
The new Mac OS is asking me if I want to the ECRP and PMA apps to discover, connect to and collect data from devices on my network. What are these apps and is it safe to "allow"?
Thanks.

The ECRP is "Epson Customer Research Participation" app. If allowed, Epson collects data on usage for product improvement. I went ahead and allowed it, but I doubt that not allowing would interfere with functionality.
The PMA app is related to Epson. It stands for Epson ReadyInk Agent (A), which is a program developed by Seiko Epson Corporation. This software is part of Epson’s printer management suite and is used to monitor ink levels and manage ink subscriptions.
I agree that the acronyms were cryptic, but I finally figured it out.
Never mind. I figured out that these are Epson related apps.
Hi, Please lead us to your source of the explanation for these cryptic apps. I came here with the same question, but your information doesn't satisfy my need to understand these apps and their importance, if any.
Thanks
I want to know as well... with the new Sequoia update today I have a pop-up "Allow Ecrp to find devices on local networks? This will allow the app to discover, connect to, and collect data from devices on your networks." Dont allow or Allow are my choices. What is this for? what if I dont allow?
So do I "Allow" or "Don't Allow"? Are they needed for printers or just information-gatherers for Epson?
Thanks!
Excellent! Kudos to you!
