'Watch Me Do' misfiring osx 11.7

I am trimming video clips with quicklook, and have used the automator's Watch Me Do function for button presses for the 'Done' and Trim Icon Buttons. I have mapped a keyboard shortcut for the done button, and it's working fine, but the Trim Icon button press works first time only, then it subsequently hits the 'Open with Quicktime' Button instead! Can anyone help this novice with advice please?
