Pages no longer opens Word (.docx) documents

Have you ever heard of bug? Do you know that bugs are bugs because they affect only some of the people and not all of them? Have you ever heard of logical reasoning? If this was a problem I would have the same - this is reasoning of 3 years old, my 5 years old do better than this.

Yup, everything back to normal. As well as Quicklook. However, I may got a steady result because i deleted Skype before running the commands. And originally suggested commands did not work for me. Only these 3.

My wife and I both updated to Sequoia. I have the current MacBook Pro she has current MacBook Air. She can’t open docx files, but can send them to me and I can open the file. Our computers have the same software and set up. Tried all the robots etc. It is clearly something beyond the usual reboot/etc. Solution.

This is kinda f*ed up. it is not whether viber/skype is installed or not. it is something else. After log-out log-in in icloud problem (I needed because safari history was not synced) the problem reappeared. Even after enabling icloud documents, the problem reappear again. After running that command, it disables cloud documents. crazy OS. I should have waited for .1 version, as I always do. f*k me.

I tried, but the solution only works until I reboot: when I reboot, in fact, Pages and Numbers no longer open .docx and .xlxs files. Also, if I apply the solution, System Settings no longer works (at least until I reboot). All these problems arose with the Sequoia update. The fact that Pages and Numbers don't open docx and xlxs documents doesn't interest me much, the main problem is that the quicklook of documents with the space bar no longer works (and if I apply your solution, the quicklook starts working again, but since System Settings doesn't work I have to reboot and then the solution no longer works).

I have never had a Word document that I opened in any version of Pages on any version of macOS be blocked for security purposes. Are you using any anti-virus application?

Have you found any work around? I tried to reinstall macOS, hadn't worked.

Are you sure ? Check System settings, all fine ? How about after a reboot ?

Yup. It has been a great fortune that it was the Viber
