Calendar Show as Free/Busy is missing

I use an apple calendar on my ipad (iOS 17.6.1) and it no longer has the option to show events as busy or free. This is annoying as I have this calendar connected to a scheduling service that looks at this calendar and it now thinks any event on my calendar is unavailable time. I have things like family birthdays on this calendar, and now it blocks that entire day off inappropriately. For a point of reference, i do share this calendar.

I have another calendar on my iPhone (iOS 17.6.1) which has a different Apple ID (a holdover from when the phone was connected to my employer) and the shared calendar on that device still has the show as free/busy option on calendar items. This calendar is also shared and i can see the items from my other devices, although this is not my preferred apple account.

When i try to create a new calendar on the iPhone, the events there don’t have the option to show as free or busy.

is there anything that can be done on my end? Is this a bug that Apple allowed in (again). Is it going to be fixed?

I'm experiencing same thing with my calendars on Mac/iPhone, no longer giving Free/Busy option and this is by default making all of my events "Free" on those calendars which also messes with my scheduling software and has let meetings be scheduled when I have conflicts. This needs a fix soon.
