Can't open Printers & Scanners in System Preferences (Sonoma, Sequoia)

starting with OS Sonoma and now on the new OS Seqoia, the printer does not work every time after the slightest OS update. The item "Printers and Scanners" does not open for a very long time, printing does not work. When the item finally opens, you have to reset the printing system and then the printer starts printing. This is some kind of bug that not everyone has. I have this problem on both MacBook air and MacStudio

Check to see if your Printers and Scanners are on your local network. To see this goto System Settings>Privacy and Security>Local Network and if they are make sure that they can connect to the local network by toggling the siwith fro grey to to blue.

There should be a dialogue box that should have come up asking you to allow your printer to find your printer on you local network, similar to what the iPhone has. It seems to be hidden in Sequoia since I haven't seen it in Settings.

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac - Apple Support (CA)

The PRINTERS AND SCANNERS item does not open for a very long time, although all other items are working. When it opens, only RESETTING the PRINTING SYSTEM helps. and so it is after each OS update

Yes, me too and it is very frustrating to have things not work after an update.
