FCP 10.8.1 not responding

Since the update of FCP to 10.8 I have been getting random beach ball icon where FCP becomes unresponsive and I have to force it to quit, then sometimes when I reload it does it again and I have to force it to quit but finally it will start working and I can edit for a. I am now on version 10.8.1 and the new macOS Sequola and it's still happening I do not believe this is an issue with FCP but probably one of the many plug-ins I have installed from companies like Motion VFX and pixel film studio, CoreMelt and so on. What I am asking is if anybody knows of a plug-in that is causing this issue or any help you can give me on this subject would be great.

If you haven't done so already, try deleting FCP Settings which can sometimes solve odd issues. Hold option and command while launching FCP, then choose Delete Settings. FCP will open the default Untitled library. Reopen the library you were working on, configure the Settings/Preferences back to the way you like (disable background rendering, etc.) and see if the issue has been resolved.
