Updating CarPlay Do I need to Reinstall on my iPhone?

I've had my Ram 2500 connected with CarPlay on my iPhone for 3 years with no issues.

I just read somewhere that when updating I should ask my iPhone settings to delete my vehicle, then reconnect and restart the vehicle like it's a new vehicle. I've never done an update.

The instructions I read here (https://support.apple.com/en-us/108415) do not mention that.

Last thing I want to do is go through problems like I've read from many members here when dealing with CarPlay.

iPhone 15 on iOS 18.6.1 and 18.6.2 will no longer connect to my 2024 GMC HD Denali CarPlay! My iPhone 15 Pro Max updated to iOS 18.6.1 and stopped connecting to my 2024 GMC HD Denali CarPlay. I tried all the usual troubleshooting to no avail. Then today, my iPhone updated to 18.6.2 and I checked again, but no CarPlay. It tries and fails. So I brought the truck to my dealer for help. The service manager jumped in with his iPhone which is still on an older version (I think 18.6.0) and it connected to CarPlay immediately. My iPhone backs up automatically and I did not make a manual backup previous to those updates. I haven't done that in a long while and I guess I got complacent. So, I cannot go back to an older version of iOS, that I know of. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions would be welcome! I find CarPlay to be far superior to the Google\Android GMC system. I definitely miss my CarPlay! Thank you -
