After updating to iOS 18 it seems iPads Gen 7 can no longer scan QR codes.
Issue is in every way similar to what happened in iOS 17.4 release and documented here:
So far we've only pinpointed the issue to this specific model but unsure if there maybe others.

The issue has been resolved in iPadOS 18.1.

Apple invite submission of comments and bug reports via its Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:
If submitting a Bug Report, ensure that you include details of your iPad model and installed version of iPadOS within the body-text of your report. Don't rely upon the pick-list - as this rarely includes the current versions.
Here in the Netherlands the same problem with iOS 18 and iPad 7th gen. We use Gynzy at school with toddlers of 4/6 years old. Now about 2 weeks the aren’t able to do their exercises.
hopefully Apple fixes this problem fast.
