It was works fine in MacOS 14 when press Command + Shift + Escape to stop screen recording but not anymore in MacOS 15. Anyone?

I use a shortcut to start the screen recording dialog. I have mapped this to Command + Shift + 5 in Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts. The trick to stop the recording is to bring up the dialog again by using this shortcut. This then provides a button which stops the screen recording.

another way to stop a recording is, whenever you initiate a recording, a "stop button" appears on your menubar. simply click it and the recording is stopped and saved to the chosen "save to" location.
I have found a workaround for this. It's not a fix, but enables you to stop the recording whilst it's still in focus, albeit with the mouse.
If you're already recording, press Command-Shift-5 again - and it will bring up a floating bar, with a stop button, making it possible can stop on a dime once again.
At least something, until they fix the shortcut...
I had never heard of this keyboard shortcut.
I am still in Sonoma, and I can tell you that it does NOT work on my Sonoma mac, so I don't think this is related to Sequoia per se.
I can only surmise that this is a custom shortcut that you may have added.
Also, this Apple page makes no mention of this shortcut either:

It should be Command + Control + Escape instead of Command + Shift + Escape.
In macOS 15.2, control + cmd + esc works again!

Thanks. I was not aware of this, but it does work in Sonoma! I will have to try again in Sequoia but will only update in a few days.

+1 Yes it does.
Upvote! Why did Apple take the shortcut away? Yes we can use the workaround of Cmd-Shift-5 and then hit stop but that is not the same as the shortcut that stops the recording immediately. It's making me have to trim off the last two seconds of each video where I go hit that stop button.
Does Command + Control + Escape work in macOS 15?
Yup came here to say it's working again, phew.
But cmd-shift-5 again, then press stop for those that haven't updated yet.
I’ve been using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Cmd + Esc to stop screen recording. It worked well up until macOS 14, but it seems it no longer works in macOS 15. I’d like to know if there’s a solution for this.
Additionally, starting with macOS 15, I’ve also noticed that screen recording gets interrupted when the screen is locked. This issue didn’t occur in previous versions.
Not anymore, at least not for me
I am on MacOS 15.
I can confirm the shortcut cmd + ctrl + esc not working.
Been using the shortcut since version 14.
Same thing here. Command-Control-Escape works in Sonoma, but not in Sequoia.
