The new iOS 18 has my husband's contact name saying 'Maybe'

The new IOS 18 has my husbands contact saying Maybe: then his name instead of what I have him saved as. This just happened after I updated to 18.

Update: We're both still having this problem, even after the most recent update of iOS 18.1, which didn't seem to do much for our iPhone 12. Note: This issue began after we updated to iOS18. He got a new 16+ on Monday and the problem persists.

The only this that has change is that we added his email back so now it reads Maybe: Husband <first and last> to you & husband

You can disable this feature, if you want, by:

  1. Go to Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  2. Under Contacts > Siri & Search > Fine Contacts in Other Apps, toggle the switch to the OFF position
  3. Under Calendar > Siri & Search > Fine Contacts in Other Apps, toggle the switch to the OFF position
  4. Under Mail > Siri & Search > Fine Contacts in Other Apps, toggle the switch to the OFF position

Unlike some Android devices, contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you have Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

If you have a corporate email account added through a profile on your device, please check with your organization's system administrator.

Same Here.

Still no fix. Deleted any contact associated with my name phone number or email, and same with my wife's name phone number and email.

Restarted both phones.

Synced to iCloud.

Deleted all associated contacts from any source (apple/hotmail/gmail/outlook).

restarted phones.

still get the error on mine. not on hers. it now sometimes thinks an email is an imessage.
