How do I stop my windows from resizing?

My calendar and browser windows keep resizing, especially when I try moving to a different location. My calendar is at the top of my monitor and I go to click on something and then it takes over the whole monitor. It does this inconsistently, so I can't get a screenshot right now.

Try this, go to Apple > System Settings > Desktop & Dock

scroll down to Desktop & Stage Manager and test the following settings.

then scroll down to Mission Control and test the following settings.

Your milage may vary depending on what you were doing in the previous macOS version.

Personally I use dual displays and can put any size window on either display without any wonkiness using the settings above.

Tile windows on Mac

I guess my issue was not fully explained. I do NOT want tiled windows nor do I want them full-sized except on very rare occasions. I want them to stay where I put them. Sometimes I want to make the browser window bigger and then smaller depending on what I am doing. Before this latest OS, they stayed put. It seems like the newest OS has tiling built-in.

I had an app that tiled things & I hated it. I want to be able to change the size as needed by using the arrow at the edge of the window and not have to jump through hoops to change things.

Yes, we understood. The second linked article has a section on changing the settings for window tiling. I can open the link, copy the section, and paste it in here for you.

I initially disliked Sonoma Stage Manager but I now kinda like it. I am in the same process with Window tiling and have not yet disabled it because:

"Once I was used to being able to tile windows in macOS, I found myself using it all the time and missing it on my test Macs that were still running Sonoma."
