Getting error message when trying to both update my Apple ID Settings as well as attempting to update the IOS 16

My Apple IPad 5th generation Won’t update either the ID settings or IOS 16 software update. I tried erasing the update download and Downloading again and install it, but no dice. Tried updating my ID settings like 8 times and it takes me through all my devices where I put in my passwords and when it’s done, I still see the red exclamation point saying I need to update my ID settings. My iOS software update downloads but when attempting to install, I get a message saying “verifying”. Then it says an error occurred and it can’t be installed and says to either accept that or try and schedule for later. Both options don’t work. I don’t know what the deal is, but it is preventing me from doing pretty much anything. Because all my apps need updating, but all the updates are only compatible with IOS 16 update. So it’s really got me in a tough situation that is very frustrating. Any assistance with fixing this issue would be highly appreciated. I look forward to hearing responses thanks!
