Mac Sequoia blocking remote access to Plex
Remote access for Plex was working fine until I upgraded to Sequoia. Same with Emby. Any thoughts?

I had the same issue. I think I figured it out. The private IP address in remote access had changed after the update and once I changed that in my port forwarding in my router, all green. Not sure if that'll help you, but I hope so!

I found out what was happening. Seems that Sequoia does not do a very clean install. I had to restart my computer, Log out of Plex and Log back in. Problem solved.
I found that I could not log into my router from this computer was the main clue.
Go to Systems settings, Wi-Fi, details, Private Wi-Fi address (fixed) then Limit IP address tracking (I turned it OFF) and now my Plex Media Server is working again.

The other thing to check is "Rotate Wi-Fi addresses". It's turned on by default in Sequoia.

verify any updates for your third party apps—
if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

Thank you, this fixed it for me. Order was: close plex and turn off open at login, log out on web, restart macbook, then open plex again and click on preferences or open plex (doesn't matter I think), then you go to the login screen on web, there you login and then it works again :)
Are you running any kind of firewall and/or "security" software? If so, turn them off.
Yes, something wrong with the macos 15, my plex is not working properly either.
the dlna service is not able to be discovered by my TV. I use it on mac-mini without screen and set plex to start with the system, then my TV can play the media file through dlna. Now I have to connect mac mini to tv, to quit the plex and start it again then the dlna comes back, it is quite annoying.
I believe it has something to do with the pop message to ask you permission to discover nearby device.
Firewall off and no security or vpn software. Worked fine until Sequoia upgrade.
Ok, what is very weird I cannot access my router at 192.168.1.1 at the computer.
I tried 2 other computers on my network not running Sequoia no problem
Update for those wondering:
I pulled the trigger today and upgraded my Mac Studio to Sequoia 15.0.1 from MacOS Sonoma. I do have a static IP assigned and an ethernet connection. Upon the upgrade finishing, WiFi was automatically turned on (I went ahead and turned that off before testing). Everything booted up normal and I am able to access Plex inside and outside my home network. Upgrade successful and everything seems to be running smooth.
Plex server version: 1.41.0.8994
Rotate Wi-Fi addresses on fixed.
Correct should be a response from Plex. I am bummed out going away wanted my content
I went back and adjusted my router settings, rebooted and your solution is working. I don't think I would have figured it out myself. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
Lack, try roddy1369 suggestion. It worked for me.
