Error message "UID FETCH server server" on my iPhone Mail app

Might have a solution! I deleted the mail app, restarted the phone then signed in again. Don’t have the error anymore and the emails do come in but the yahoo mail app still shows the emails notifications faster. I hope this helps

Delete your present email account and reenter it

After posting that I tried changing the following account setting:

Settings > Apps > Mail > Accounts >

     Under Fetch I changed Manual to Automatic 

The problem still persists, but now eventually the messages download to my inbox.

i also upgraded my iPhone to iOS 18.1, but I don’t have this problem there.

I have the same issue with the IOS 18.1 sadly. The only solution that I found was to download the Yahoo Mail app from the app store. It works very well. It still annoys me that i need to use two apps for the mail but at least I get my email as soon it's sent to me. I think the issue is on Apple side and they will have to fix it... the question is when will that be.

Since it wasn’t fixed in the latest OS updates, I reported that fact to Apple’s product feedback webpage. You may also wish to do so. Since the error occurs on both my iPad and iPhone, I reported it separately for each device.

It sounds as if you should touch base with your email supplier and see if they have a help forum on their website.

The only thing I found after Googling the problem was this:

This error caused by a well-known bug in the IMAP implementation used by your email server. This typically affects IMAP servers. Internally, each IMAP message is assigned a unique ID (UID).

I’m started having the same problem on my iPad immediately after upgrading to iPadOS 18.1. I did delete my account and added it again. Although that helped for a few days, this morning the problem is back again. So, unfortunately, this is not a definitive solution. It was a pain to have to download all my messages again, and I detest having to do it again. Especially since it appears that I may have to repeatedly do it,

Hello I have a not so big problem but keep making me annoying from time to time. My iPhone 15 email cannot get email from yahoo.com, for other email it coming in almost real time, but yahoo one always has few minutes delay, sometime 10mins. I tried all kinds of solution (remove acc and add back) and didn’t work. Pls help. It is just yahoo, others working completely fine

This would seem to work but it would re-occur.

I am having the same issue. I have deleted and resigned in. The problem is not clearing up.

Quick update. Same issue with iOS 18.2…

When I did that it only helped for a few days, and then the problem reoccurred.
