After an end user updated his Mac last night he keeps receiving a popup " dlpmac " wants access to data from other apps.

Hello Community,

I have an end user who upgraded his mac last night to the latest OS release and now he is receiving a popup on his side "dlpmac" wants access to data from other apps. He clicks on Don't allow but the app keeps on appearing.

We tried to google tis until we were blue last night but have never ever saw something like this before.

Any ideas on what this could potentially be?

Best,

Ralston

Hi,

Had the same issue, in my case it turned out to be part of the Trend Micro virus scanner. See , page 138, it is mentioned as one of the elements that are covered by self-protection.

Cheers, Holger

If, as another user has mentioned " Trend Micro virus scanner. " software is installed and used on the client computer

Once this type of software is installed >> Trend Micro virus "

You can spend hours or days hunting down all the bits and pieces of this software and never really get it all off the computer

Start Over from Scratch

For Apple Silicon computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.

For Apple Intel computers >>   Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac followed by How to reinstall macOS

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before  proceeding

If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate everything back.

This will probably Re-Introduce ( Trend Micro virus ) back into the Operating System

HELP!!! PLEASE!!! As I am neither a software/hardware expert nor a native English speaker I haven't really got it, what you guys writing in this thread. So, what do I have to do to erase this annoying notification that "dlpmac" wants access to data from other apps (after I ran a software update on my MacBook Pro today). I have a private Mac and worked (3 years ago) for a company in a freelance role. Back at that time they uploaded the Trend Micro Security Agent on my Mac. The license has expired ages ago but yes some (outdated, in-active/not working) files are still on my desk. Would be a dream if someone could help me out with a step by step advice... Best Felix
