sun crossword access

Since installing iPadOS 18.0 I am being denied access to the Sun Crossword page in Safari. This site still works correctly on my MacBook using MacOS 15.0 Sequoia. This site worked happily on previous iPadOS versions.

I get this error message:

494 ERROR

The request could not be satisfied.

Bad request. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.

Any ideas what is wrong?

I have been in touch with Apple Support. They helped me fix the problem. On my iPad mini the solution was just a restart of the iPad but on my iPad Pro it required a restart and clearing the history data in Safari. They also recommended using this web page to sort out this type of issue. If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support (UK)
