How do you remove a text highlight in Apple Notes Sequoia update?

I can find the new five colors to highlight text in the Sequoia update for Apple Notes, which is cool.

What I can't do apparently, is undo a highlight, or change it back to black text?? All you can do is change another one of the other 5 (really, only five colors to choose from?) colors... there is no way that I can find to remove a highlight once you've added it?

This is a massive UX miss by Apple if true, and I'm hoping beyond hope that it's just something hidden that I'm missing?

In the Notes application

Choose the Aa in toolbar

Choose the HighLight Text Tool ( Like a pencil icon )

In this example

1 - diskutil list is Black in colour

In this example has been Highlighted

To reverse the Highlighting >> Click the same Pencil like icon

Presto - text is back to Black

Tested running macOS 15.0 Sequoia on a M2 Machine

Select the text you wish to remove the highlights from and click on the highlight tool [outlined red]:

Or, use keyboard combination: Shift - Command - E

There is also a contextual menu for highlighting text

Control - Click on selected text for menu:

This can be also be used to add or remove highlighting.

YES! Thank you for this... I initially didn't use the pencil icon, I just clicked the color dot right next to it to highlight, this works! Not the most intuitive UI, but it works, thank you!!!
