Sequoia keep losing connection to QNAP NAS (SMB) and finder constantly hanging

Since upgrading to Sequoia, Finder has been having problems finding my (QNAP) NAS, is slow to transfer files when it does find it and drops out quickly. It's driving me insane.

I've restarted my router, my Mac and my NAS - no joy.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

edit: I should add, the NAS is working fine (other devices can see it) and I can access it from my Sequoia Mac via it's webpage etc with Safari.

What kind of SMB settings and connection to the QNAP are you using? Like SMB v3, singing enabled?

You can check by login using ssh and leave the menu. Then enter " /usr/local/samba/bin/smbstatus " to see the connections on the QNAP itself (ssh must be enabled)

Hi - my QNAP is using SMB v3 - not sure what singing is though.

Problem completely fixed as long as Apple's firewall is off.

testing now, but turning off Apple's firewall seems to have worked (and also sped up file transfers). Will post back if this continues to work over the weekend.

Do you have Apple’s firewall on? Switching it off solved the problem for me.

Synology NAS here, but same issues...

Lots of others having similar issues as well.
