Camera Icon Missing from Note Toolbar after installing IOS 18

Tap the paperclip icon to view the camera icon.

I had the same issue. Found this site and it was resolved. But really, how intuitive is it when you are looking for a camera icon to first know that you need to select the attachment icon? Really? Just bring back the camer icon on the menu. :-)

I second that direct camera tool! I need direct access to the camera for site work. Bring it back!

I am having the same issue. I have always had the camera icon and now it isn’t showing up. I am not using Gmail etc. I am in the iCloud folder. HELP!

I have the same problem. I'm on an iPhone 16 Pro which came with iOS 18 installed. When I went into notes, the camera icon was there. I used it to scan a pic and from then on it's gone. Not sure why it was actually there then disappeared, and I've rebooted phone a few times.

You can only scan in a note created in the iCloud or "On My iPhone" locations. This functionality is not available in other services such as Google or Microsoft.

Absolutely, I would never logically have reasoned that the camera would be under a paper clip! Who decides these things?
